Message: It was kind of empty at 1am on a Friday tbh. But it was great. Music was decent. The cranberry vodka was good too.

Message: Been meaning to leave this post for sometime. stopped by one night after the city had some drinks with my girl waiting on our ride, both of our phones died no one had a charger we decided to call an uber thru the bouncer, which he did for us. once uber arrived i offered him the fare as listed on the app he declined and asked us to come back and and visit sometime again when we had more time to hang. says the place gets packed on weekends and some weekdays (which i cant recall) either way we are grateful for his generosity and want to just say thank you very much Mr “ Man of many faces”, youre awesome. We have been back to find you and keep on missing you but i want to say thank you from the bottom of our hearts that was a very kind and generous gesture. this place is lucky to have you working their door. well be back until we can meet you to have a drink or at least get u to accept our appreciation of your kind gesture. good job REDD’s that guy is AWESOME.

Message: Stopped by for a happy hour with a co-worker. It was nicely set up with socially distanced seating. It was also fortunate for us we were the only ones there so I felt comfortable sitting inside. We ordered $5 drinks from the happy hour menu and a couple apps each. I tried the meatballs and sauerkraut ($5) and the mini pretzel ($5). The pretzel didn't come with the sauces the menu had listed but the pretzel itself was AMAZING! It was pretty large considering it was the "mini" and also it was piping hot and obviously freshly prepared. The sauce was a bit strange because it tasted like canned condensed mushroom soup? I was really hoping for a beer cheese but that didn't happen haha. The meatballs were good and came with a hefty helping of purple sauerkraut which wasn't too sour which I like. I don't tend to like super, super sour sauerkraut. The meatballs were not very hot though and I tend to like my food pretty hot. Considering we were the only ones there I was kinda surprised the meatballs were kinda room temp. I also had a happy hour house cabernet which I didn't love. The bartender sampled me a grapefruit beer which I loved and I'll definitely be getting that next time around. Overall it was a good experience but was lacking in a few things to have been able for me to provide a four star review.

Message: As someone who lives in Bavaria and was visiting New Jersey, I can say my visit to Redd's was ok. The Bier selection is good, with some German classics, as well as US staples. The classic pretzel was too small for the price, salted excessively, and extremely oily on the outside. Lots of TVs make this a good spot to watch games, but it can't really be considered an authentic German bar/restaurant.
